American Made
This tale of a daredevil pilot
“Barry Seal" was enthralling to say the least.
As he said so many times during
the movie, he tends to leap first before looking. Was that stupidity or
courage? I would say in this instance, courage because the more you look or
consider, you will lose your “liver” as we say on this side of the world.
This happy go lucky attitude
took our protagonist from a commercial pilot to a gun runner for the CIA to a
drug smuggler for the Medellín Cartel.
He was literally basking in
money, so much that the song "mo’ money mo problems" by Biggie became
a reality. He and the Medellin cartel became as they say "thick as
thieves", but as we all know all good things come to an end especially
when you run with the big wolves.
It was also interesting seeing
the tie-ins between General Noriega, Pablo Escobar and Ronald Reagan.
A bit of a history lesson as it
was based on a true story.
