The 5th wave

Chloë Grace Moretz .

I loved her in Kick Ass. Enjoyed what I saw in The Equalizer and I was absolutely bowled over by her performance in The 5^th Wave.

Sometimes, there is something about seeing a child actor/actress grow up before you and is still doing well. Anyway, back to the movie.

Aliens once again are attacking the earth. Sounds Familiar.  Right?

Well, yes but with a little twist.

The aliens attack the earth systematically in waves with Chloe and her family being the main protagonists in this picture.

The first wave was an electromagnetic pulse that took out anything that uses power in one form or the other. This was a major scene here, cars crashing into each other, a big jumbo jet falling out of the sky, etc.

The second wave: tidal waves.

The third wave was an avian flu. Chloe lost her mom here.

The fourth wave: aliens landed on earth and took over human body forms and were eliminating the remaining humans. Chloe lost her dad here.

I have given enough spoilers but I will add one more. The way the movie ended, made it  obvious that there would be a sequel and maybe it just might be dubbed The 6th Wave.
