Ride Along 2
I love his style of comedy and you should watch his stand up
routines. “I’m a grown little man” and “Let me explain” easily come to my
mind.
So it is of no surprise that I love his movies as he tends
to delve into what he knows best-comedy.
He also seems to have struck the right formula. He always
tends to co-star with a major actor. Films like Ride Along (Ice Cube), Get Hard
(Will Ferrell) and the upcoming Central Intelligence with The Rock.
Ride Along 2 continues from where the first part ended and
Kevin is still trying to impress his tough soon-to-be brother-in-law (Ice Cube)
and of course annoying the hell out of him with his incessant chatter.
Kevin is now a rookie cop but trying to be like Ice and be a
detective. A case comes up in Miami that requires Cube leaving Atlanta for
Miami to try and resolve the case. Kevin begs to be taken along hoping to be
made detective, if he helps to crack the case, Cube only agrees because he was
hoping Kevin will mess up so bad he will finally give up his dreams of making
detective.
What follows next was a series of high chases, hilarious
scenes and funny dialogue. An instance was when Kevin mistakenly shoots a
fellow officer in the chest and the officer started to rise again, Kevin went “Oooh
my Gawd, move out of the way, he’s a zombie, head shot head shot”.
Benjamin Bratt was sublime as the bad guy; Ken Jeong was his typical irritating self as a pimp hacker while there was a brief cameo from Tyrese. The
supporting cast was great.
Once you enjoyed Ride Along, you are more likely than not to
enjoy Ride Alonger, I mean Ride Along 2.
-Or you can call it ,"The brothers in law". You will get the joke after watching the movie.
