Spy

Once I saw the movie poster for Spy, I knew I had to watch it.

Melissa McCarthy, Jude law and Jason Statham in a spy movie. It had to be hilarious as hell.

I was mostly either laughing or clapping for most parts of the movie.

Melissa McCarthy was a desk agent for the CIA playing point guard for Jude Law in the field and had never gone undercover. However, during a routine assignment, Jude law was killed and his cover and that of other CIA agents were blown .Melissa had to go undercover to revenge Jude Law’s death and find a missing nuke .Also as a greenhorn, her cover had not been blown yet as she had none- to begin with.

Rose Byrne as the antagonist was sexy and not too evil.

The dialogue between Jason Statham and Melissa McCarthy was riveting and hilarious.

Action guy  Statham revealed another dimension to his portrayal of action characters and it was fun to watch. It was almost of like watching The Rock in ‘Pain and Gain’.

The director was able to fuse the action scenes beautifully with the comedy themes. Along with the beautiful dialogue, he makes this a monster hit.
