Little Boy
This was a tearjerker in every sense of the word. If you
don’t want your lady thinking you are soft, then don’t watch this movie with
her.
This story explores the relationship between a boy and his father.
The boy was a loner and was always being bullied on account of his size. The
only real friend he had was his father until his father had to go away to fight
the Japanese in the Second World War.
The little boy went to extreme lengths all in a bid to get
his father back after it was revealed that his father had been captured as a prisoner
of war. All his actions also explore themes of religion, faith and belief of an
innocent heart. The highlights of which were his staring out to the sea and
willing his father home.
I still hear his little voice shouting, ‘I did it! My father’s
coming home!’
Also his anguish on finding out that his father was not
coming home after all.
The expectations in this movie keep changing: is the father dead?
Is he alive?
This is an emotional roller coaster in every sense of the
word.
I cried.
