Warm bodies
If you love Zombie movies with a touch of comedy, this movie
was tailor made for you. The zombie genre of movies was getting tiring but this
was a wake up call and boy! What a wake up call it was. It was also the movie that
made me start to notice actor Nicholas Hoult (younger Beast in X men).
Ordinarily I would not have bothered watching it but my main
guy, Bari recommended the movie and what a recommendation it was.
The typical zombie movie involves the undead trying to eat
up one or all of the protagonists and usually the protagonist survives the day.
Now imagine a situation where the protagonist was one of the undead, that is
what I call flipping the script.
The director had the protagonist as the film’s narrator with
an inner monologue which lent more humor as reflected by the opening comments
where Nicholas states that his name starts with R but as a result of half of
his brain already rotten, he could not remember the rest and hence refers to
himself as just R.
Plot follows R falling in love with a human; yes a human and
the natural problems that could be expected from such an occurrence. Movie
director was also the writer, thumbs up to him.
Warm Bodies left me with a warm feeling in my heart.(lol).
