Legend of Tarzan.
Tarzan is a well told tale. The question was always “what
the studio would do with this latest portrayal of Tarzan”. What they did was to
tell the story again through a series of flash backs plus a new story. The fresh story has Tarzan returning to the
Jungle after several years away. The Director did a great job piecing the flash
backs together with the fresh story. This also explained the gaping holes in
the plot and how Tarzan came to be.
The plot line has its faults but for most parts holds its
own. Credit goes to the script writer as well. A great cast consisting of Alexander
Skarsgård (True Blood) , Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou and Christoph Waltz
do justice to the movie with fantastic acting although Christopher Waltz
playing the villain role ,was more or less reenacting his role in James Bond’s Spectre.
As expected with a Tarzan movie, there was a huge animal
cast, and again the Director did a great job molding the special effects
involving the animals, especially with the Gorillas. Stunning visual effects
depicting the jungle and Savannah landscapes stun the eye along with tribal
attires of the various clans in the movie.
Tarzan has to return to the Jungle to stop slave traders who
are after the diamonds in the Congo Basin .
Just did a quick internet search and saw that a
similar movie was done in 1998 titled “Tarzan and the lost city”. I therefore
take back my praise for the scriptwriter
