Oloture

Make-believe, I see movies as make-believe art forms. The more believable a movie is, the more it resounds with me.

Oloture ticked all the boxes in this aspect. The movie was gritty, sound, and informative.

The world of prostitution and illegal trafficking are some of the highest vices affecting women in Nigeria. Oloture through the eyes of Oloture played excellently by Sharon Ooja as a journalist pretending to be a harlot in order to expose a trafficking cartel paid the ultimate price.

The production was fantastic as to be expected from the ebony life movie production stable as well as the attention to detail. The acting was fantastic from most of the cast and I will highlight a few.

Sharon Ooja as the lead role was perfect and her transition from an educated journalist to a street harlot was flawless.

Omoni Oboli as the big madam and pimp was deserving of an oscar. She was so good, I did not realize this was Omoni and was wondering who is the new magnificent actress?

Omowumi was totally believable as the landlady of the prostitutes' hostel.

Ikechukwu made me stop wondering when he will go back to his rapping career and finally agree that he can act.

Wo fada is good in fact she's better than good, she's getting to be the best but I am worried that she is getting typecast.

Let me stop here as I do not want to make this a long write up. I give this movie a five star and I must say ebony life films do not disappoint. oh, I just remembered, wedding party 2 was below average but the wedding party more than makes up for that disappointment.
