My 2014 top ten action movies.

Starting from number 10 and not Dustin Numbari.

10. Snow Piercer.

Chris Evans leads a revolt for the control of a train in a post-apocalyptic ice world. No one can survive outside the train and the whole world has to exist in peace on this super train. What I like about the movie was the very idea of having everyone on a super train with the obvious segregation of the haves and the have not's and of course the superb acting.

Nice one.

9. Expendables 3

This is the third installment of the mother of all action movies where Stallone puts together action stars from the 80s and 90s and a few of the current ones. Remember when we were all younger and we used to discuss who will win in a fight between Jet Li and Jean Claude Van Damme, etc. Well, apparently, Stallone read our thoughts and tried to answer them. Each installment added more stars and this one was no different and saw the addition of Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas. The performance by Banderas was top five for me and was the star of the show. The movie was leaked online before release and endured massive downloads.

Wonder if there will be a fourth one and if Bruce Willis will make a comeback?

8. Transformers: Age of Extinction.

This was the first movie in the Transformer series not to star Shia Labeouf and had Mark Wahlberg instead. I was already biased before watching the movie due to this little fact but I was impressed and the movie series of Transformers continue to be on my top list.

7. Captain America: Winter Soldier

Marvel continues to roll out the hits and this second installment of Captain America had Black Widow and Falcon to aid him after the exploits of the Avengers and yes they still served up a terrific dish.

6. Guardians of the galaxy.

Another box office hit from the Marvel Studios.  This one features Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. If you enjoyed the Avengers, you will definitely love this. A sequel is to be expected soon.
